I’m writing this letter to you as a parent with great appreciation for what was accomplished this week at the student leadership camp.  At first, I didn’t think that my son would buy into it.  So every night I would speak to him and ask what activities they had done and what was learned from them.  Now I’m not going to sit here and claim that my son is the most wonderful child to live with, much less have to work with at school!  But the first night all I heard about was the Winnie the Pooh project. He really liked that!

Today, he came home and was amazed at the maze project!  Cool I thought, he is enjoying himself as well as learning in the process.  But what I am most emotional about is the fact that he came home tonight and said, “Well mom, today we had some great bonding time,” and my heart went, “Yes! They’re bonding as a group!” I heard stories about how cool many of the participants were becoming!  My son also admitted that he was glad to be working with so many different people.  Now the breaking point for me was when he said that the people in the workshop are not so bad and how he will miss them when he graduates.

My son was sad for the most part of the evening because it is his senior year.  He realizes how me he has learned from this camp! He told me last evening that he will miss this next year and wishes he could complete the second part of the camp series! Now that, to me, is a major accomplishment!

Thank you Mr. Gomez for allowing my son to attend this workshop because he has learned a lot from it.  It has also showed me that he does have a heart! It was the BEST $75.00 I have spent towards his education! Please pass on my appreciation to the camp presenters!

One Happy Mom,
